Look closer at each photograph, and you may discern symbolism and meanings within the frame, creating an accidental story about each person and place.

My aim with this work is to examine people in everyday settings. I peer into their lives while they are unaware of my existence. They are alone, in their own thoughts, living their lives as everyday people in everyday patterns as everyday parts of the everyday world.

Being an introvert myself, I enjoy thinking about how the time people spend alone shapes who they are. I choose to edit the photographs using black and white filters in order to bring the viewer’s attention to the psychology behind the people photographed—what the people in the photograph may be thinking, what they may be like as people, or how they may spend their everyday lives.

On the more technical side, by using my phone rather than a DSLR camera, I am able to take photographs of people and their moments as quickly as a possible, at the current and very immediate time and place without being noticed or questioned directly. It allows me to capture moments of the ordinary quickly, while leaving the subject unaware.
